12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
NOTE: Live webinar is from noon to 1:00 pm US EST. It will be recorded.
Dr. John Bach is a leading clinical expert on non-invasive mechanical ventilation for individuals with FSH muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions. While breathing issues are described as a concern primarily for the 20 percent of most severely affected and older individuals with FSHD, we hear of younger, ambulatory individuals who are experiencing problems. All patients should understand their risk for respiratory issues, and should discuss their concerns with their physicians. Regular monitoring of respiratory function is suggested, as one might experience insufficiency over a long period of time without presenting signs. Dr. Bach will discuss and answer your questions about respiratory insufficiency in FSHD, how to monitor and manage it, and how to avoid invasive procedures.
Dr. Bach is Professor of Neurology and Medical Director, Center for Noninvasive Mechanical Ventilation, at the Rutgers University New Jersey Medical School.
*Please note this webinar is scheduled for 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EST.
