Let’s Get Organized!
Perhaps it is time to talk about how best to communicate to our elected officials the importance of specific provisions of the existing federal health care coverage. The protections under the “pre-existing conditions” clause, genetic testing & diagnosis, allowing dependents to stay on their parents’ medical policy until age 26 – these elements allow reasonable access to medical care and are critical to protecting ourselves and families. Additionally, we might want to consider protecting and enhancing funding lines for stem cell research. What are your thoughts on these subjects? Come and share.
Bring: One dish to serve 8; please send me an email or call me to let me know what you are bringing so that we don’t all bring cheesecake!!!

LA FSHD CONNECTS Meeting: A gathering for people with FSHD and their support network from the Los Angeles region, for networking, learning, advocacy and more! Organized by the FSH Society and the LA FSHD CONNECTS volunteers, the meeting provides opportunities for people to strategize about what our needs are as a group, whether it is physical therapy, caregiving, mobility aids, physician referrals, etc. We are creating a community of people who are connected by FSHD to wish to find support, answers, and empowerment.

(If you turn into Airport Drive you are in the wrong place. Turn around, at the traffic light make a right on Bundy and a hard right into the next driveway.) Free parking. ADA accessible!
