Patients, family members, researchers, and clinicians concerned with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) are coming together for the 2008 FSH Society International Patient and Researcher Network Meeting, July 26-28, 2008.
We have planned a program of lectures and discussions to bring current clinical and research advances in FSHD to our community. These include lectures by leaders in FSHD research and treatment, speaking about physical therapy and respiratory therapy; and therapies, compounds and strategies for treatment; insights at the molecular and genetics level; and the view from the National Institutes of Health.
An afternoon of workshops offers practical approaches to care-giving, self-advocacy, life as a young person with chronic illness, and opportunities for small group conversations with investigators.
